Using Neural Waves as a Digital Supplement for better Mental Health
Neural Waves act as a mental digital supplement using Binaural beat technology. Binaural beats are an auditory phenomenon that can alter brainwave activity, influencing mood, relaxation, and cognitive function. While they aren’t a direct replacement for supplements, binaural beats can produce similar effects on mental states.
How Binaural Beats Work
Binaural beats involve listening to two slightly different frequencies in each ear, creating a pulsing or beating effect in the brain. This can entrain brainwaves to match the frequency difference, typically in the range of 0-30 Hz. Different frequency ranges are associated with various states, such as:
Delta waves (0-4 Hz): deep sleep, relaxation
Theta waves (4-8 Hz): meditation, creativity
Alpha waves (8-12 Hz): relaxation, reduced anxiety
Beta waves (13-30 Hz): focus, concentration and energy
Effects similar to supplements:
Anxiety reduction: Binaural beats in the alpha frequency range (8-12 Hz) have been shown to decrease anxiety in individuals with chronic anxiety (Kennerly, 2004). A study found a significant reduction in anxiety scores (p < 0.01) after listening to alpha-frequency binaural beats for 30 minutes.
Relaxation and stress relief: Listening to delta-frequency binaural beats (1-4 Hz) increased feelings of relaxation and reduced stress hormones (cortisol) in individuals with chronic stress (Huang et al., 2009). A study found a significant decrease in cortisol levels (p < 0.05) after listening to delta-frequency binaural beats for 30 minutes.
Improved focus, concentration and energy: Beta-frequency binaural beats (13-30 Hz) have been shown to improve focus and concentration in individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) (Rowe et al., 2016). Another study found a significant improvement in energy scores (p < 0.05) after listening to beta-frequency binaural beats for 20 minutes.
